During the school holidays in April and October, it is common for yourng school boys to ordain as novice monks for a short period of time. It is a bit like going to Sunday School but there is more commitment as the boys have to shave off all of their hair and cannot eat after noon. We have visited ordination ceremonies at Wat Mahawong and Wat Chai Mongkhol. But, other temples also have ceremonies.
