View Seaport for Suvarnabhumi Airport in a larger map

This map marks the construction sites of the drainage canal between the Gulf of Thailand and Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The area around the airport is prone to flooding every year starting in September. As the airport is below sea level, the water doesn't normally drain until the sea level falls in December. So a canal and pumping stations are being constructed to forcibly remove the water from Samrong Canal to the sea. Click here for our first pictures and report of the construction sites.
