Srinakarin Road
goes from Sukhumwit Road in Samut Prakan to Bangkapi. The stretch
of road covered in the map below is 7.6 km long. The road is
popular for late night dining with restaurants and nightclubs.
There are also three large hypermarkets (Tesco Lotus, Carrefour
and Makro) and a 24 hour supermarket (Foodland). The six lane
highway is split in the middle by a drainage canal. The photograph
to the right was taken opposite Carrefour. This is at the exteme
end of Samut Prakan Province. The Banga Na-Trad Highway crosses
this road a further 1km away. The office blocks to the right
is Nation Tower, home of The Nation Newspaper and Thailand's
only 24 hour News Channel. |

FURTHER AFIELD:
If you continue down Srinakarin Road a further 1 km from the
Soi Sukhumwit 105 turnoff you will reach Bang Na-Trad Highway.
Turn left for the nearby Central City Bang Na Department
Store. This has a large entertainment complex on the roof
which includes roller coaster, bumper cars and a large swimming
center. Turn right if you want to head down the east coast of
Thailand to Chonburi and Pattaya. It will take you just over
an hour to reach the first seaside resort.
Continue down Srinakarin Road a little more and you will pass
Novotel Hotel on the right. About another 2 km on the
right are the very large shopping malls Seri Center and
Seacon Square. The latter has a 14 screen cinema, bowling
alley, theme park rides and hundreds of shops. Behind Seri Center
is an access road to Rama IX Park.
