In the early part of the 21st Century, the inmates in the city prison were transferred to another secure location and then the prison was dismantled. Various plans were drawn up to turn the location into a city park. The latest plan is a 90 metre high tower with a restaurant at the top. The building plans to include a children's museum, library and shops selling OTOP products. Although work hasn't started yet, the project is expected to be finished before 2008.

These two pictures were taken in October 2005 and show that nothing has been done in the following two years to the area. A giant billboard showing plans for the park was taken down in 2004. Click here to see the billboard.
