In the early part of the 21st Century, the inmates in the city prison were transferred to another secure location and then the prison was dismantled. Various plans were drawn up to turn the location into a city park. The latest plan is a 139 metre high tower with a restaurant at the top. The building will have a children's museum, library and shops selling OTOP products. Although they had the foundation stone ceremony in 1997, work hasn't started yet.
