The new temple was built by Phra Acharn Lee Thammawaro) of the Dharmayuthi sect on May 8, 1962. It is one of the important temples for practicing mediation. Worth visiting and seeing in this temple is Phra Thutangkha Chedi, a group of 13 chedi as a representative of the 13 duties of the monks on their religious trips. There is also Vihara Wisutthithamrangsi in which Acharn Lee's remains are enshrined. If you walk down the narrow lanes past the kutis where the monks live, you will come out at the Gulf of Thailand. The monks live in a mangrove forest and you can often see mud skippers and water lizards. There is a footpath along the coastline and you can walk from here all the way to Bang Pu Seaside Resort.

GETTING THERE: This temple is 6 kilometres from town. It is located in Soi 60, Tambon Taiban, on Sukhumvit Road. The easiest way to come here is on a Songtaew 36 which is only 8 baht. Buses to Tam Ru and Klong Dan will also pass the entrance. It is not easy to know when to get off so make sure you tell the driver. At the top of the soi you can take a motorcycle taxi to the temple for about 10 baht. We have a PDF file in Thai and English with these place names that you can print out. DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS: Drive to Samut Prakan on Sukhumwit Road. As you arrive in Samut Prakan, turn left taking the bypass around the city following the signs for Chon Buri. From the City Hall it is 6.26 kms. If you are driving on Srinakarin Road, drive to the end of the road and turn left. From the intersection, Wat Asokaram is 5.07 kms.
